Target Payday Schedule 2026, Pay Dates and Pay Period Guide

By PaydaySchedule Editorial Team · Last reviewed · Independent guide, not affiliated with Target Corporation

Target pays its store and distribution team members every other Friday. Each pay period runs two weeks, Sunday through Saturday, and the check lands six days later.

That's 26 paydays a year. In 2026 the Friday paydays start January 2 and end December 18, and the next one after today is Friday, September 25, 2026.

Quick note so nobody gets confused. This page is about Target Corporation, the Minneapolis retailer, and its hourly payroll. It isn't about a "target" pay goal or budget.

What day do Target employees get paid?

Target employees get paid on Friday, every other week. Hourly store team members, drive-up, style, fulfillment and most distribution roles all follow the same Friday cycle.

People type this a dozen ways. "What day does Target get paid," "Target payday," "does Target pay weekly." The answer stays the same. Friday, and no, not weekly.

One exception is a bank holiday that lands on a Friday. Then direct deposit usually shows up the business day before. More on the 2026 dates for that below.

What time do Target paychecks come in?

Most Target direct deposits post between midnight and early morning on payday Friday. The exact minute depends on your bank, not on Target's payroll team.

Big banks often release the money around 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. local time. Online banks and some credit unions show it on Thursday evening, a day ahead.

So if your coworker got paid Thursday night and you didn't, that's normal. Their bank posts pending deposits early. Yours waits for the settlement date.

If it's past 9 a.m. Friday and nothing is there, open your Workday pay slip first. It shows the net amount and the account it was sent to. Wrong account is the usual culprit.

What is Target's pay period?

Target's pay period is two weeks long. It starts on a Sunday, closes on the second Saturday, and the hours from those 14 days are paid on the following Friday.

Diagram of one Target pay cycle, two Sunday-to-Saturday work weeks followed by six processing days and a Friday payday
One full cycle, 20 days from the first Sunday of work to payday.

How does Target pay period work, day by day?

Here's a real 2026 example. You work Sunday, May 31 through Saturday, June 13. Payroll processes the timecards, and that pay is expected Friday, June 19.

That six-day lag is why your check always feels a week behind. It is. Friday's deposit covers work that ended almost a week earlier, not the week you just finished.

Overtime, holiday pay and shift differentials follow the same period. If you pick up a Saturday shift on the last day of a period, it lands in that Friday's check.

When does Target pay period end?

A Target pay period ends on Saturday at the close of the second week. For the pay period running now, that Saturday is September 19, 2026, paid Friday, September 25.

Your hours need to be correct in myTime before that Saturday closes out. Missed punches fixed later usually show up as an adjustment on the next check instead.

Months with three Target paychecks in 2026

January and July 2026 each have three Target paydays. January gets paid on the 2nd, 16th and 30th. July gets the 3rd, 17th and 31st.

If you budget on two checks a month, those extra Fridays are the ones to plan around. Plenty of team members put the whole third check toward rent or savings.

Holiday paydays to watch in 2026

Two 2026 paydays touch a federal holiday. Friday, June 19 is Juneteenth, when the Federal Reserve is closed, so that deposit will likely arrive Thursday, June 18.

Friday, July 3 is the observed Independence Day for many offices. The Federal Reserve stays open that day, though, so July 3 pay should post as normal.

Looking ahead, the December 13–26 period is paid on Friday, January 1, 2027. That's New Year's Day, so expect that money on Thursday, December 31 instead.

Target pay schedule 2025 dates

The Target pay schedule for 2025 used the same Friday cycle, one year earlier. It also had 26 paydays, with three-check months in January and August.

If you need 2025 dates for a tax form, a loan application or a missing-wage claim, here they are. The W-2 for 2025 already sits in Workday.

Target payday schedule PDF and printable calendar

Target doesn't publish a public payday schedule PDF. The official dates live inside Workday, which you can only open with your team member sign-in.

So we made a printable one. Hit the "Print or save as PDF" button above the 2026 table, or use your browser's print menu and pick "Save as PDF" as the printer.

People searching "target payroll schedule 2026 pdf" and "target payroll schedule 2025 pdf" mostly want exactly that, a one-page list to stick on the fridge.

When will your first Target paycheck arrive?

Your first Target paycheck usually arrives two to three weeks after your first shift. It depends on where your start date falls inside the current pay period.

Say you started Wednesday, September 9, 2026. That period ends Saturday, September 19, so your first check should be Friday, September 25, covering four days.

Start on Sunday, September 20 instead, and you wait for the full period to close on October 3. First pay then comes Friday, October 9, closer to three weeks.

Direct deposit setup can take one cycle to kick in. If it isn't active in time, HR may issue your first check another way. Ask your store HR expert which applies.

How to check your pay in Workday at Target

Target team members view pay slips, pay periods and tax forms in Workday. You reach it through the Target Pay and Benefits site, which Target links from its careers page.

  1. Open Target Pay and Benefits. Go to targetpayandbenefits.com, the site Target's corporate careers page points team members to.
  2. Choose the Workday sign-in. Pick the Workday link for current team members. This Target Pay and Benefits Workday sign in is the "Workday Target" login people search for.
  3. Enter your team member credentials. Use the Target user ID and password your store set up at onboarding. Some accounts ask for a verification code.
  4. Open the Pay app. On the Workday home screen, tap Pay, then My Payslips. Each slip lists the pay period, hours, deductions and net pay.
  5. Check tax forms if you need them. In the same Pay area, open My Tax Documents to download your W-2 for the last tax year.

The Workday mobile app works too. Search "Workday" in your app store, then enter Target's organization details from HR the first time you sign in.

My Target Pay and Benefits sign in isn't working

Most sign-in failures come from an expired password or a lockout after too many tries. Wait 30 minutes, then use the reset link on the sign-in page.

Former team members often lose Workday access after they leave. For an old pay slip or W-2, contact Target HR rather than trying old passwords over and over.

Target Pay and Benefits hours and support

The Target Pay and Benefits website and Workday are online around the clock. You can check a pay slip at 2 a.m. on payday if you want to.

Phone support hours for HR and benefits questions are listed inside the Pay and Benefits site. We haven't been able to confirm them publicly, so we won't guess here.

For anything store-level, like a missed punch, your store's HR expert is the fastest route during open hours.

Can you get paid before Friday with DailyPay?

Yes. Target offers DailyPay, an earned wage access app. Eligible team members can move money they've already earned before the regular Friday payday.

Target says the next-business-day transfer is free. Instant transfers are possible too, but DailyPay charges a small fee for those, shown in the app before you confirm.

Anything you pull early comes out of your Friday check, dollar for dollar. A $120 transfer on Tuesday means Friday's deposit is $120 lighter. People forget that part.

What positions at Target pay $24 an hour?

Target's starting wage range is $15 to $24 an hour. Target says the exact rate depends on the job and the local market, set using industry and local wage data.

In practice, the top of that range goes to higher-skill hourly roles, such as specialty or team lead jobs, and to stores in expensive metro areas.

A regular general merchandise role in a small town will sit much closer to $15. Our honest read is that $24 isn't a common starting rate for entry roles.

The quickest way to check a specific job is the posting itself. Many states, including California, Colorado, New York and Washington, require listed pay ranges.

Target paycheck late or missing? Fixes that work

A late Target paycheck is almost always a bank timing, account or timecard issue. Match your problem to the table, then take the fix on the right.

Target payday FAQs

Does Target pay weekly or biweekly?

Target pays biweekly, not weekly. You get 26 checks a year, one every other Friday, and each one covers two full Sunday-to-Saturday weeks.

When is the next Target payday?

The next expected Target payday is Friday, September 25, 2026, for the September 6–19 pay period. After that comes Friday, October 9.

How many paychecks does Target give in 2026?

Target team members get 26 paychecks in 2026, from January 2 to December 18. January and July are the two months with three checks.

Why did my Target paycheck come on Thursday?

Some banks post pending direct deposits the evening before payday. It's the same Friday check, released early by your bank, not by Target.

Can I see my Target pay stub before payday?

Usually, yes. Pay slips often appear in Workday a day or two before Friday. It's the easiest way to spot a wrong hour before the money lands.

Does Target pay on holidays that fall on Friday?

Pay still goes out, but banks are closed on federal holidays. Expect the deposit the day before, as with Juneteenth, June 19, 2026.

Do I get paid for my last week after quitting Target?

Yes. Final pay covers your remaining hours. Timing depends on state final-paycheck law, so some states pay sooner than the next regular Friday.

Is DailyPay at Target free?

The next-business-day DailyPay transfer is free, according to Target. Instant transfers cost a small fee, and the app shows it before you confirm.

Is myTime the same as Workday at Target?

No. Team members use myTime for schedules, punches and time off. Workday holds pay slips, tax forms and payment elections.

Do Target salaried leaders follow the same payday?

Most reports say salaried store leaders share the biweekly Friday cycle. We couldn't confirm this officially, so check your own Workday pay slips.

Sources and how we checked these dates

Wage range, DailyPay and benefits details come from Target's own Pay and Benefits fact sheet and careers page.

The pay-setting method is from Target's February 2022 wage announcement. Holiday rules follow the Federal Reserve holiday schedule.

Target doesn't publish its pay calendar publicly, so the dates here are calculated from the biweekly Friday cycle. If yours differ, your Workday pay slip wins.
