Amazon Payday Schedule 2026: Weekly Pay Dates, First Paycheck and What Time It Hits

Amazon pays its U.S. hourly warehouse and delivery station associates every week, and payday is Friday. The next three are Oct. 30, Nov. 6 and Nov. 13, 2026.

Two of the Fridays left this year are bank holidays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Expect those checks a day early, on Thursday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 31.

What day does Amazon pay?

Amazon pays hourly associates on Friday, once a week. That covers fulfillment centers, sortation centers and delivery stations, including seasonal hires.

It’s weekly, not every two weeks. You’ll see a few Reddit threads where someone says their site pays every other Friday, but those are usually people at a partner company, a staffing agency or a role outside the warehouse network. If your offer letter says Amazon.com Services LLC and you’re hourly, plan on 52 Fridays a year.

Each Friday check pays for the week that ended the Saturday before, so you’re always paid about six days after a week closes. More on that lag below, because it’s what confuses new hires most.

Amazon doesn’t post a public payroll calendar the way some employers do. The weekly Friday pattern comes from Amazon’s pay practice as employees describe it on r/AmazonFC and Quora, and from the pay stubs in the A to Z app, which is the one place you can confirm your own dates.

Here are the paydays left in 2026, along with the work week each one covers. If you start a new job today, your first check falls somewhere in this table.

The Dec. 4 check is the one to watch if you picked up extra shifts during peak. It covers Thanksgiving week, so any holiday premium or overtime from that week shows up there.

Christmas and New Year’s Day paydays in 2026

Both Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2027 fall on Fridays, and the Federal Reserve is closed on both days. Direct deposits can’t settle when the Fed is closed, so employers that pay on Friday almost always move the deposit to Thursday.

That’s why we list Thursday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 31. Amazon hasn’t published a holiday pay notice for 2026 that we could find, so treat those two dates as the likely ones and check your A to Z pay stub the week before.

The day after Thanksgiving is different. Banks are open on Nov. 27, so that payday stays on Friday.

If you want to plan further out, every Friday is a payday unless it’s a federal banking holiday. In 2026, three Fridays were holidays: June 19 (Juneteenth), Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2027. In 2027, none are, because the Fed stays open on a Friday when a holiday falls on Saturday.

Juneteenth caught some people off guard this year. June 19, 2026 was a Friday and a federal banking holiday, so that week’s deposit most likely posted on Thursday, June 18.

The 2027 column is a projection. Amazon could change its payroll practice, but it has paid hourly associates weekly on Fridays for years, so I’d be surprised.

What time does Amazon pay hit your account?

There’s no single time. Amazon sends payroll to the banks ahead of Friday, and each bank decides when to release it.

At a traditional bank or credit union, many associates say the money shows up overnight Thursday into Friday, before the morning shift. Some banks post it a few hours later on Friday.

Banks and apps with early direct deposit can show it sooner. With Chime, for example, many Amazon workers say the deposit lands Wednesday or Thursday, because Chime releases money as soon as the payroll file arrives.

Our Chime payday schedule explains how that early posting works, and the Wells Fargo pay day schedule covers Wells Fargo’s own early pay feature.

I’d plan around Friday morning, period. Early deposits are a bonus, and they don’t happen every week. If a payroll file reaches your bank late, the early posting simply doesn’t happen that time.

On a paycard, Amazon’s pay usually shows up on Friday as well. Anytime Pay cash-outs go to the paycard too, which matters if you’re using both (see the Anytime Pay section).

Paycard or direct deposit?

You can take your pay on a paycard or by direct deposit to a bank account. The paycard is handy if you don’t have a bank account yet, and it’s where Anytime Pay cash-outs land.

Direct deposit is usually the better long-term choice. Your money lands in an account you already use for bills, and banks with early deposit can get it to you a day or two sooner. If you switch from the paycard to a bank, do it early in the pay week so the change catches the next Friday.

How the Amazon pay week works

Amazon’s work week runs from Sunday at 12:00 a.m. to Saturday at 11:59 p.m. That’s the pay period for hourly associates, and it doesn’t change based on your shift or start day.

The Friday after that Saturday is payday. So the week of Sunday, Oct. 18 to Saturday, Oct. 24 gets paid on Friday, Oct. 30.

This one-week lag is normal. Amazon needs a few days after the week closes to finalize hours, approve punches and calculate overtime.

Night shift is where it gets confusing. A shift that starts Saturday at 6 p.m. and ends Sunday at 4:30 a.m. splits across two pay weeks, with the hours before midnight on one stub and the rest on the next one. If your weekly total looks short by a few hours, check whether part of a shift landed on the following week.

Overtime follows the same Sunday-to-Saturday week. Once you pass 40 hours in that window, the extra time is paid at one and a half times your rate, as federal law requires for hourly workers. Mandatory extra time during peak counts the same way.

When you’ll get your first Amazon paycheck

Most new hires get their first Amazon paycheck 6 to 12 days after their first shift. It depends on which day of the week you start.

If your first shift isYour first week closesFirst payday
Sunday, Nov. 1Saturday, Nov. 7Friday, Nov. 13
Monday, Nov. 2Saturday, Nov. 7Friday, Nov. 13
Wednesday, Nov. 4Saturday, Nov. 7Friday, Nov. 13
Saturday, Nov. 7Saturday, Nov. 7Friday, Nov. 13
Sunday, Nov. 8Saturday, Nov. 14Friday, Nov. 20

Your first check also covers paid orientation or new-hire training, as long as it happened inside that week. If orientation was in a previous week (some sites run it a few days before the first shift), that time lands on an earlier check.

The first paycheck doesn’t always arrive by direct deposit. If your bank details weren’t verified in time, Amazon can send the first one to a paycard or as a paper check, then switch to direct deposit from the next week. Add your bank account in A to Z as early as you can, ideally during onboarding.

How Anytime Pay changes your Friday check

Anytime Pay lets Amazon hourly warehouse employees cash out up to 75% of their eligible earned pay before payday, any time, day or night. Amazon says it’s available to all hourly warehouse employees, and the money goes onto your paycard.

Amazon jobs page describing Anytime Pay: cash out up to 75 percent of eligible earned pay, 24x7, for all hourly warehouse employees
Amazon’s Anytime Pay page. Screenshot: hiring.amazon.com, Oct. 29, 2026

The catch is simple: whatever you cash out comes off your Friday check. If you earn $900 in a week and pull $500 on Wednesday, your Friday deposit is about $400 minus taxes and deductions.

That’s where a lot of “my check is short” posts come from. Taxes are figured on the full week’s pay, so a big midweek cash-out can leave a surprisingly small Friday deposit.

My honest take: Anytime Pay is a better option than a payday loan, which is how Amazon pitches it, and it’s useful for gas money in a tight week. But if you use it every week, you’re paying this week’s bills with next week’s money, and it gets hard to break that loop. Try to keep it for real emergencies.

Corporate, Flex and DSP drivers get paid differently

The Friday weekly schedule is for hourly operations associates. Other people who work for or with Amazon are on different pay schedules.

Amazon corporate and salaried employees

Salaried and corporate employees aren’t paid weekly. Their schedule depends on the entity and country, and Amazon doesn’t publish it. Many U.S. corporate staff describe semimonthly or biweekly pay, and your offer letter or first pay stub is the only reliable source.

If you just moved from an hourly role to a salaried one (an area manager promotion, for example), expect one odd gap while you switch from weekly to the new cycle.

Amazon Flex drivers

Amazon Flex delivery partners are independent contractors, not employees. Flex drivers commonly report deposits twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, covering blocks completed a few days earlier. We couldn’t confirm that schedule on Amazon’s public Flex FAQ, so check the Earnings tab in the Flex app for your own deposit dates.

Amazon’s Flex FAQ does say most partners earn $18 to $25 an hour, depending on tips, location and how quickly they finish routes.

DSP drivers in Amazon vans

Drivers in branded Amazon vans usually work for a Delivery Service Partner, a separate company that contracts with Amazon. The DSP is your employer, and it sets your payday. Many DSPs pay weekly or every two weeks, so ask your DSP’s payroll contact.

Amazon sellers and the “Amazon Pay” wallet

If you sell on Amazon, payouts work on a separate schedule entirely, and Amazon Pay is a checkout wallet, not a paycheck. Neither has anything to do with the employee payday above.

How much does Amazon pay per week?

At Amazon’s new minimum starting rate of $20 an hour, a 40-hour week is $800 before taxes. At the typical rate Amazon cites, nearly $24 an hour, it’s about $960.

Amazon raised minimum starting pay for U.S. full-time operations employees to $20 an hour, a $1 increase, in an announcement on Sept. 16, 2026. Its jobs site says the new hourly rates took effect Sept. 27, 2026, so the first full week at the new rate was paid on Friday, Oct. 9.

Rates still vary by site. The listings we saw on Oct. 29 ranged up to $23.50 an hour in Hooksett, New Hampshire, and several seasonal postings carried a $1,000 bonus.

So can you make $1,000 a week? Yes, but it takes overtime or a higher-paying site. At $24 an hour, you’d need about 42 hours, with two of them at time and a half. At $20, you’d need roughly 47 hours.

Hourly rate40 hours45 hours (5 overtime)50 hours (10 overtime)
$20.00$800$950$1,100
$22.00$880$1,045$1,210
$24.00$960$1,140$1,320

All of those are gross pay. After federal tax, Social Security, Medicare, any state tax and benefits, take-home is usually 20% to 30% lower.

Amazon also announced two benefits alongside the raise. Starting Oct. 1, 2026, U.S. employees get 10% off eligible groceries online through Amazon and Whole Foods, and 20% off in Whole Foods stores. A banking benefit called Day 1 Financial, with lifetime membership at First Tech Federal Credit Union, starts rolling out in late 2026.

How to budget on a weekly Amazon paycheck

Weekly pay means 52 checks a year, and some months get five of them. In 2026, January, May, July and October each had five Amazon paydays. The rest had four.

That fifth check is the easiest money you’ll ever save. Build your monthly budget on four checks, and treat every five-Friday month as a bonus month for savings, debt or car repairs.

In 2027, the five-Friday months are April, July, October and December. Mark them now.

Rent is the bill that causes the most trouble with weekly pay. Most leases are due on the 1st, and a weekly check doesn’t line up with a monthly due date. Two simple fixes work for a lot of associates:

  • Set aside one quarter of your rent from every Friday check into a separate savings account, then pay rent from there.
  • Or pay rent from the last check before the 1st, and cover groceries and gas from the other three.

Compare that with retailers on a two-week cycle. Costco and Target pay every other Friday, and Walmart pays every other Thursday for most associates, so their workers see only 26 paydays a year.

Amazon’s weekly rhythm is easier for tight budgets, because you’re never more than seven days from money.

PTO, UPT and holiday pay on your Amazon check

Paid time off shows up on your stub as its own line, at your regular hourly rate. It’s paid on the Friday after the week you used it, like any other hours.

UPT (unpaid time) is different. It protects your attendance record when you miss hours, but it doesn’t add money to your check. If you use 10 hours of UPT in a week, your pay for that week drops by those 10 hours.

Amazon’s benefits page lists company holidays and paid time off for hourly warehouse employees, and the details depend on whether you’re full-time, part-time, reduced-time or seasonal. We couldn’t find a public list of which holidays are paid for each group, so check the benefits section in A to Z for your own position.

Peak season adds another wrinkle. Extra pay for peak shifts, incentive pay or voluntary extra time all land on the Friday check for the week you worked them, so your December checks can swing a lot from week to week.

Taxes and deductions on an Amazon paycheck

Every Amazon check has the same basic deductions as any U.S. paycheck. Social Security takes 6.2% and Medicare takes 1.45% of your gross pay, so 7.65% comes off before anything else.

Federal income tax depends on the W-4 you filled out during onboarding. A lot of first-time workers leave it on the default and end up owing nothing, or getting a small refund, which is fine. If you pick up a second job, update the W-4 in A to Z so you don’t owe in April.

Then come your choices. Amazon’s benefits page mentions a matching 401(k) and health savings options, and if you enroll, those come out of each weekly check too.

Here’s a rough example for a full-time associate at $22 an hour with no overtime:

LineAmount
Gross pay (40 hours x $22)$880.00
Social Security (6.2%)-$54.56
Medicare (1.45%)-$12.76
Federal income tax (estimate, single filer)about -$65
State income taxvaries, $0 in states like Texas or Florida
Take-home before benefitsroughly $750

Your numbers will differ. Health insurance, 401(k) contributions and state taxes can easily move take-home by another $50 to $100 a week.

Reading your Amazon pay stub

Your weekly stub in A to Z is short, but a few lines confuse almost everyone the first time. Here’s what to look for, top to bottom.

  • Regular hours: your straight-time hours for the Sunday-to-Saturday week, at your base rate.
  • Overtime: hours past 40 in that same week, at 1.5 times your rate.
  • Shift differential: extra cents per hour for nights, weekends or certain departments, if your site pays one.
  • PTO or holiday hours: paid at your base rate.
  • Anytime Pay: money you already cashed out, subtracted from the deposit.
  • Taxes and benefits: Social Security, Medicare, federal and state tax, then anything you enrolled in.

Job listings show pay as “up to” a rate, like the $23.50 we saw for Hooksett, New Hampshire. That top number often includes a shift differential, so a day-shift associate at the same site may earn a little less per hour. Check your offer letter for your exact base rate.

One more thing worth knowing: the stub’s date is the pay date, not the work week. If you’re matching hours to shifts, look at the period start and end dates printed on it.

Seasonal hires and your last Amazon paycheck

Seasonal associates are paid on the same weekly Friday schedule as regular associates. The only difference is how and when the last check arrives.

When a seasonal job ends, your final hours are usually paid on the next regular Friday. That’s how most states handle final pay for an employee whose job simply ends.

A few states are stricter. California, for example, requires final wages right away when an employer ends your job, and within 72 hours if you quit without notice. If you’re in one of those states and your last check is late, that’s worth raising with HR.

Many seasonal hires get offered a regular role in January. If you convert, nothing changes about your payday. You keep getting paid every Friday, and your benefits and PTO rules switch to the new position.

What to do when your Amazon pay is wrong or missing

Most pay problems at Amazon come from missed punches, shifts split across two weeks, or an Anytime Pay cash-out you forgot about. Work through these before you open a case.

  1. Open your pay stub in A to Z and compare the hours to your own count for that Sunday-to-Saturday week.
  2. Check your punch history for any missed or edited punches.
  3. Look for an Anytime Pay deduction on the stub.
  4. If hours are missing, report a pay discrepancy through A to Z or the ERC/HR desk at your site.
  5. Ask whether the correction will be paid off-cycle or on the next Friday check.

Corrections usually show up on the next weekly check, sometimes as a separate line. If a missing amount is large, ask HR whether an off-cycle payment is possible, and keep a screenshot of your punches until the money arrives.

If no deposit shows up at all on Friday, check that your bank details in A to Z are correct and that the account is still open. A closed account sends the money back to Amazon, and reissuing it takes several business days.

Common questions about Amazon paydays

Does Amazon pay weekly or biweekly?

Weekly for U.S. hourly warehouse, sortation and delivery station associates, every Friday. Corporate employees and contractors are on different schedules.

What day does Amazon pay every week?

Friday. When Friday is a federal banking holiday, like Christmas Day or New Year’s Day in 2026, the deposit normally moves to Thursday.

Does Amazon give a Christmas bonus?

Amazon doesn’t advertise a holiday bonus for hourly associates. Seasonal job postings often carry a sign-on bonus instead; several on Oct. 29, 2026 listed $1,000. Peak-season incentive pay can also appear on your check, but it varies by site and year.

Does Amazon pay time and a half for overtime?

Yes. Hourly associates get one and a half times their rate for hours over 40 in the Sunday-to-Saturday week. Some states, like California, also require overtime after 8 hours in a day.

Does Amazon pay on the 15th and the last day of the month?

No. That’s a semimonthly schedule, which some employers use, but Amazon’s hourly associates are paid every Friday. If your bills are due on the 15th and the 1st, line them up with the Friday before each one.

Can I get paid daily at Amazon?

Not on payroll, but Anytime Pay gets close. You can cash out up to 75% of your eligible earned pay after a shift, and the rest arrives on Friday.

Is the Amazon payday the same in every state?

Yes. Hourly associates are paid on Friday across the U.S. What changes from state to state is your take-home, because of state income tax and local overtime rules.

Why did my Amazon pay come early this week?

Usually because your bank released it as soon as Amazon’s payroll file arrived. That happens with early-deposit banks and apps, and it can vary week to week. It doesn’t mean Amazon changed your payday.

What is Amazon’s Day 1 Financial benefit?

It’s a banking benefit Amazon announced in September 2026. Qualified employees and their families can get lifetime membership at First Tech Federal Credit Union, with accounts that have no overdraft fees, no monthly maintenance fees and no minimums. Amazon said the rollout starts in late 2026, with broad availability in 2027.

Where do I see my Amazon pay stub?

In the A to Z app or on the A to Z website under the pay section. Stubs often show up before the Friday deposit lands.

Can I change my direct deposit at Amazon?

Yes, in A to Z. Changes made close to payday may not apply until the following week, so update it early in the pay week.

Where can I compare other employers’ paydays?

See our company payday schedules for retailers like Walmart, Target and Costco, or the 2026 payroll calendar for every Friday of the year. Our paycheck guides explain pay stubs, taxes and deductions line by line.

The next Amazon payday is Friday, Oct. 30. If you’re new, that’s the date to check against your first week, and after that it’s every Friday through the holiday shift on Dec. 24.
