AutoZone Payday Schedule 2026: Pay Dates, Pay Calendar and Your First Paycheck
AutoZone pays most store and hub employees every other Friday by direct deposit. That’s 26 paychecks a year, so two months in 2026 will bring you three paychecks instead of two.
This guide lists every possible 2026 AutoZone pay date and explains when your first paycheck lands. It also shows how to find your pay stubs and W-2. We’re an independent site, not AutoZone, so your pay stub and AZPeople account are the final word on your exact dates.

How often does AutoZone pay?
AutoZone runs a biweekly payroll, which means you get paid once every two weeks. Employee answers on Indeed from 2017 through 2022 overwhelmingly describe it the same way: “every other Friday” or “biweekly on a Friday.”
A biweekly schedule always gives 26 paychecks in a normal year. Your pay lands on the same weekday each time, but not on the same date each month.
Does AutoZone pay every week?
No. A few people have said AutoZone pays weekly, but that answer is heavily downvoted on Indeed. Former Parts Sales Managers, HUB drivers and sales associates all describe a two-week cycle.
If you need money between paychecks, plan around the two-week gap. Weekly pay isn’t an option at AutoZone stores, based on what employees report.
Biweekly vs. twice a month: why the answers don’t match
You may see some AutoZoners say they’re paid “twice a month.” That sounds the same as biweekly, but it isn’t. Twice a month (semimonthly) means 24 paychecks on set dates, like the 15th and the last day of the month.
Biweekly means 26 paychecks, always on the same weekday. Most AutoZone answers describe Friday paydays every two weeks, which is the biweekly pattern. People who said “twice a month” were most likely describing the same schedule in looser words.
How many paychecks do AutoZone employees get a year?
You’ll get 26 paychecks in 2026. Every so often a calendar year has 27 biweekly Fridays, but 2026 isn’t one of them.
Because 52 weeks don’t split evenly into months, two months each year bring a third paycheck. Which two months depends on your pay cycle, covered in the 2026 table below.
What day is AutoZone payday?
AutoZone payday is Friday. Nearly every employee answer names Friday, from stores in Georgia, Florida, Colorado, Kansas and Tennessee.
One 2017 answer from Massachusetts said Thursday. That’s likely a bank posting the deposit a day early, or a one-time holiday shift. Treat Friday as the normal payday unless your own pay stub shows otherwise.
Is today an AutoZone payday?
Check the date of your last paycheck, then count forward in two-week steps. If today is a Friday exactly two, four or six weeks after your last pay date, today is payday.
The faster way is the payday checker or the table below. Find your last pay date in one of the two columns, and that column is your 2026 pay calendar.
AutoZone next payday checker
Enter the date of your last AutoZone paycheck. You’ll see whether today is payday and your next six pay dates.
Dates assume AutoZone’s every-other-Friday cycle. Your pay stub is the final word, and bank holidays can move a deposit one business day earlier.
AutoZone pay schedule 2026: every pay date
AutoZone doesn’t publish a public payroll calendar. Every biweekly Friday payroll falls on one of two tracks, though, and only one of them matches your paycheck.
Check your most recent pay stub. If your last payday was Friday, October 23, 2026, you’re on Track A. If it was Friday, October 16, 2026, you’re on Track B.

| 26 | Fri, Dec 18, 2026 | Fri, Dec 25, 2026 (Christmas) |
Both tracks have exactly 26 paydays. The dates are calculated from AutoZone’s reported every-other-Friday pattern. They aren’t copied from an official AutoZone document.
Which months have three paychecks?
If you only want to know which months bring an extra check, here’s the short version.
| Track A | Track B | |
|---|---|---|
| Three-paycheck months | January and July | May and October |
| Holiday paydays to watch | Juneteenth (June 19) | Christmas Day (December 25) |
| First payday of 2026 | January 2 | January 9 |
| Last payday of 2026 | December 18 | December 25 |
A three-paycheck month is useful if you budget monthly. Rent and bills are often covered by two checks, so the third one can go to savings or a bigger expense.
Can you download the 2026 pay schedule as a PDF?
AutoZone doesn’t share an official pay schedule PDF. Some websites offer a downloadable version, but those are their own estimates, built the same way as the table above.
The easiest option is to print this page or save it as a PDF from your browser (Ctrl + P, then “Save as PDF”). Circle your track, and you have a printable AutoZone pay calendar for the whole year.
How AutoZone pay periods work
Your paycheck doesn’t cover the week you’re in. It pays for a two-week pay period that has already ended.
Payroll needs a few days to total your hours, add overtime and take out taxes. So there’s always a gap between the last day of the pay period and the Friday deposit.
Pay period vs. pay date
The pay period is the two weeks of work being paid. The pay date is the Friday the money reaches your bank.
AutoZone doesn’t publish its pay period start and end days. Your pay stub lists both, usually as “Period Beginning” and “Period Ending.” Check one stub and you’ll know your cutoff for the rest of the year.
How a biweekly payroll calendar works in 2026
Every biweekly payroll calendar for 2026 follows the same rules, whether it’s from AutoZone or a payroll company like ADP:
- Each pay period is 14 days long.
- Each payday falls on the same weekday, 14 days after the last one.
- A normal year has 26 paydays, and some years have 27.
- Two months a year carry a third payday.
So any standard biweekly calendar for 2026 will match one of the two AutoZone tracks above. AutoZone doesn’t use a special pattern, just an ordinary Friday cycle.
When does AutoZone direct deposit hit?
AutoZone doesn’t post a deposit time. Most direct deposits show up early on the morning of payday, but the exact time depends on your bank.
Payroll sends the money through the ACH network, and each bank decides when to post it. Some banks post right after midnight. Others wait until their morning processing run.
Why your deposit might show up Thursday
Some online banks and credit unions post deposits as soon as the payroll file arrives, which can be one or two days early. That’s probably why one AutoZoner reported a Thursday payday.
Early posting is a bank feature, not an AutoZone policy. If you switch banks, your deposit day might change, even though AutoZone’s payday stays the same. Our Chime payday schedule shows how early-pay banks handle this, and the Navy Federal pay day schedule and Wells Fargo early pay dates cover two other popular options.
What happens when payday falls on a holiday?
The ACH network doesn’t run on Federal Reserve holidays. If your payday lands on one, your deposit will likely post on the business day before, but that depends on AutoZone’s payroll timing.
In 2026, two AutoZone Fridays hit a bank holiday:
- Track A, Friday, June 19 (Juneteenth). Expect the deposit on Thursday, June 18, or check your bank app that morning.
- Track B, Friday, December 25 (Christmas). Expect the deposit on Thursday, December 24.
July 3, 2026 (Track A) isn’t a bank holiday, even though it’s the federal day off. When July 4 falls on a Saturday, Federal Reserve Banks stay open on Friday, so your deposit should arrive on time.
Your first paycheck at AutoZone
Most new AutoZoners get their first paycheck about two weeks after they start. It can take closer to a month, depending on where your start date falls in the pay period.
Employee answers on Indeed back this up. “2 weeks from start date,” “After 2 weeks” and “On payday for whatever pay period you joined in” are typical. One maintenance technician said “One month later.”
Does AutoZone hold your first paycheck?
No employee answer we found mentions AutoZone holding back a first paycheck. What people do describe is the normal delay of a biweekly payroll, which can feel like a held check.
Here’s how it works. You’re paid for a pay period only after it ends. If you start near the end of a pay period, your first check is small and arrives soon. If you start at the beginning of one, you work about two weeks before the period even closes.
How long until your first check? Two examples
These examples use Track A dates and assume a pay period that closes about a week before payday. Check your own stub for the real cutoff.
| Start date | Pay period it falls in | Likely first payday | Wait |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday, Oct 5, 2026 | Ends mid-October | Friday, Oct 23, 2026 | About 18 days |
| Monday, Oct 19, 2026 | Ends end of October | Friday, Nov 6, 2026 | About 18 days |
If your start date falls right after a cutoff, your first check could take close to four weeks. That’s where the “one month later” answers come from.
Paper check, pay card or direct deposit?
New hires can set up direct deposit or get a pay card. A 2019 answer from a new employee described having “set up your direct deposit or you get a debit card with pin.”
If direct deposit isn’t active by your first payroll, your first payment may come by another method. Ask your store manager on your first day which one applies to you.
For comparison, our Costco first paycheck guide shows how another large retailer handles new-hire pay.
How to check your AutoZone pay stubs and W-2
Current AutoZoners view pay stubs through AZPeople, AutoZone’s employee portal. W-2 tax forms come through ADP.
The steps below come from a published third-party guide and employee reports. Menu names can change, so if a label looks different, look for the closest match.
Viewing pay stubs on AZPeople
- Go to azpeople.autozone.com. Type the address yourself instead of clicking a search ad.
- Sign in with your Employee ID and your Ignition password.
- Open Self Service.
- Choose Payroll and Compensation to see your current and past pay statements.
You can also reach AZPeople from your store’s computer system. Only enter your login on AutoZone’s own domain. Sites like “azpeople.me” are not run by AutoZone, and some ask for parts of your Social Security number.
Does AutoZone use ADP for payroll?
AutoZone uses ADP to deliver W-2 forms, according to third-party guides and former employees. You may also see pay statements inside ADP after signing in through AZPeople.
ADP also publishes a general payroll calendar for all of its clients. It shows bank holidays and processing deadlines, not AutoZone’s own paydays.
How former AutoZone employees get their W-2
Former employees can’t use AZPeople, so they go straight to ADP:
- Visit my.adp.com and click Get Started or Create Account.
- Choose the option for a registration code and enter AutoZone-MyADP.
- Verify your identity. Your name and details must match AutoZone’s records.
- Enter the verification code ADP sends you. It usually expires within about 15 minutes.
- Go to Tax Statements and open your W-2.
W-2s for the prior tax year are due to employees by January 31. If yours hasn’t arrived by mid-February, contact AutoZone HR.
AutoZone fiscal year calendar and what it means for pay
AutoZone’s fiscal year ends on the last Saturday in August, not December 31. Fiscal 2026 ended on Saturday, August 29, 2026, as AutoZone said in its August 24, 2026 earnings announcement.
The fiscal year doesn’t move your paydays. Your checks still come every other Friday through the calendar year, and your W-2 still follows the calendar year.
Where the fiscal calendar can matter is bonuses and store targets. Store results are tracked by fiscal week and quarter, so any incentive tied to those results follows AutoZone’s fiscal calendar. Your manager can tell you when it pays out.
Where to find AutoZone’s official pay policy
The AutoZone handbook and the AZPeople portal are where official pay rules live. The handbook isn’t posted publicly, so any copy you find on an outside site may be old or unofficial.
For anything that affects your money, use these in order:
- Your latest pay stub on AZPeople, for pay dates and pay period dates.
- Your store manager, for timecard and schedule questions.
- AutoZone HR, for deposit problems, tax forms or pay disputes.
What to do if your AutoZone paycheck is late or wrong
Most late deposits come from a bank or holiday delay, not a payroll mistake. Work through these checks before you raise it:
- Confirm it’s actually payday. Match today’s date against your track in the table above.
- Check for a holiday. A bank holiday on or before payday can push the deposit back a day.
- Look at your pay stub on AZPeople. If a stub exists for this payday, AutoZone sent the money and the delay is at your bank.
- Check your direct deposit details. A recent bank change can send one check to the old account or as a paper check.
- Compare hours. If the amount is short, check your timecard against the hours on the stub. Missed punches are the usual cause.
- Talk to your store manager first, then HR. Bring your stub and the dates in question.
Common questions
Does AutoZone pay overtime on the same paycheck?
Yes. Overtime is paid with the regular paycheck for the pay period you worked it. Under federal law, hourly employees earn 1.5 times their regular rate for hours over 40 in a workweek.
Do part-time AutoZoners have the same payday?
Yes, as far as employee reports show. Part-time and full-time store employees describe the same every-other-Friday schedule.
When will I get my final paycheck after leaving AutoZone?
That depends on your state. California, for example, requires final pay right away if you’re let go, and within 72 hours if you quit without notice. Many other states let employers pay on the next regular payday.
Can I get paid early at AutoZone?
AutoZone doesn’t offer an official early pay program that we could confirm. The most common way employees get money a day or two sooner is an early-deposit bank account.
AutoZone pays on a biweekly Friday cycle, and your track is easy to find from one pay stub. For other employers, see the Walmart payday schedule, Target pay dates and McDonald’s pay periods.
